Before I dive in, I want to make two things clear:

LearnCard is and will always be open-source.
The LearnCard app is and will always be free to download, use, and integrate with.

We’re proud of the many improvements to LearnCard in the last year. We think it could be even better with your help.

Through years of work, platform integrations, and partnerships across different education modes and models, we’ve continuously tweaked, enhanced, and reformed the LearnCard SDK. As we move into the future, we’d like to continue these improvements—but instead of being driven by grants and funding priorities, we'd love for our future to be informed by our users, champions and supporters.

That’s why we’re launching the LearnCard Forum, a monthly call that anyone can join, to help drive the future of LearnCard. We’ll discuss our latest product updates, discuss what the learning and employment ecosystem needs, and listen to your suggestions for how we can improve LearnCard in the future.

Who this community is for:

End Users: It’s important we incorporate learner & educator perspectives into our roadmap - if you’re a user of LearnCard, we’re committed to making space to hear your ideas.

Experienced Developers: We will be diving into various technical specifications and standards, and using developer tools like Github to drive conversations.

Why should you participate in the LearnCard Forum?

Make the free, publicly available version of LearnCard better for you and those you serve

  • Instead of direct engagements and custom deployments with us, which take time, cost money, and require a lot of coordination, just tell us what you want to see in LearnCard, and we’ll bring it to life and make it easy to deploy.

Improve LearnCard for everyone who uses it

  • We’ll be deploying these changes across all of our ecosystems, ensuring that everyone who uses LearnCard benefits from your suggested improvements.

Contribute to an open-source community

  • We’ll be giving credit to everyone who contributes—add it to your Github, learn more about how digital wallets work, and grow your portfolio of work.
We’ll start on November 12th at 2:00PM ET, with an introductory call where we'll review the entire LearnCard ecosystem. We’d love to have you!
